Upon completion of investigation of the report of Robbery this morning, North Bay Police D/Cst/ Scott McFarlane advises that he has charged William McDaid, age-29, of McIntyre Street in North Bay with Theft (of cash) from Mac’s Mart on Cassells Street this Morning.

McDaid was also wanted by North Bay Police for Fail to Appear on a previous Theft charge in North Bay and is presently at the North Bay Provincial Court for a Bail-hearing.

North Bay Police are thanking members of the public for assisting in the location and Identification of this suspect.

North Bay Police Officers are currently investigating a reported robbery at the Mac’s Mart at 621 Cassells Street in North Bay, this morning at 7:25 AM.

It is alleged a lone male entered the store and grabbed the cash bag, then fled north bound on Cassells Street on foot. Day shift patrol officers flooded the area and sealed off a four block area from First Avenue to Fifth Avenue, searching for the culprit. The assistance of the OPP with a tracking dog was employed in the search.

At 08:43, a 29-year-old male suspect was arrested in the area by North Bay Police and taken into custody. D/Cst’s McFarlane & Robertson of the Street Crime unit are continuing the investigation.
