The government has released a list of communities getting cash for summer events and festivals under its Celebrate Ontario program which "celebrates Ontario's diversity, heritage and culture." More than $20 million was handed out.

While the Province is supporting 328 Festivals and Events, just one event in North Bay got funding.

North Bay's Summer in the Park will receive $50,000, about $2,000 less than it got last year.

By comparison, our neighbours in Sudbury got funding for 16 events, totalling $469,763.

That includes $17,500 for a poutine festival and $11,000 for their Santa Parade.

Powassan's Smoke and Spurs event got $26,250.

In West Nipissing, the River and Sky Festival got $21,160.

Huntsville doubled North Bay's total, pulling in almost $100,000 for four events.

It got $2,500 for its Muskoka Maple Festival, the Huntsville Festival Huntsville got $66,500, while Cinemuskoka Huntsville received $5,500 and its World Water Ski Show Tournament got $25,000
