Sturgeon Torch Run raises $725

Walkers/runners collected “loose change” in buckets

This year’s Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics took place on Wednesday June 20th at 3 p.m. in Sturgeon Falls,

Athletes, along with their families and volunteers were joined by Koda, other West Nipissing Police personnel and law enforcement partners from throughout the northeast region in the annual walk through downtown Sturgeon Falls.

Walkers/runners collected “loose change” in buckets as they paraded down the streets and entered local businesses.

"Again, our community showed its generosity with $725.00 being collected in the span of about 15 minutes,' said Chief Chuck Seguin.

"I wish to thank the community for their continued support of this great program.  A special shout-out to the officers who participated and to Constable Denis Marleau and who coordinated this event on behalf of the West Nipissing Police Service."
