Stuck stolen vehicle leads to weapons charges

Initial investigation determined a vehicle became stuck on Rosevelt Road. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen from a business in Temiskaming Shores

Three people have been arrested and charged after police responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in Latchford.

On March 26 shortly after 9 a.m.,Temiskaming OPP responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle on Rosevelt Road.

Initial investigation determined a vehicle became stuck and further investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen from a business in Temiskaming Shores.

As a result of the investigation three individuals have been arrested.

David Malott, 37, of Waterloo, is charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order
  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation order

Brandon Alexander-Stevens, 26, of North Perth, Ontario is charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Theft over $5.000 of a motor vehicle
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order

Heidi Diemert, 32, of North Perth, is charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

All three remain in custody pending a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 27, 2023, in Temiskaming Shores.
