Strong Township man arrested for impaired

On Friday February 15, 2013 at approximately 9:30pm, police observed a snowmobile travelling northbound on Highway 124 in Strong Township.

Police stopped the snowmobile, a 1989 Polaris 500 in Strong Township and after speaking with the driver detected an odour of an alcoholic beverage coming form his breath. Police arrested the driver for impaired operation and brought him back to the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police Detachment, where he was later released from police custody.

Police charged Dale STILLAWAY (48) of Strong Township with impaired operation of motor vehicle, exceed 80 milligrams blood alcohol content and drive disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

STILLAWAY was also charged with possession of marihuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and several Highway Traffic Act offences.

The accused is to appear in Sundridge Court on Tuesday March 19, 2013
