A woman that had her garden gnomes stolen from her yard in Elliot Lake, is "heartbroken they are missing" according to the OPP.

Two gnomes were taken and were last seen in the yard at approximately 1 p.m. on June 9.

At approximately 4 p.m. that day, the victim noticed the gnomes were missing.

The missing items were family heirlooms which were made by the victim’s father 40 years ago.  They are described as having red hats, bright green jackets, dark green pants, grey beards and in a standing position.  The victim states the colours are very faded.

Officers were called to investigate a report of a theft at a home on Westhill Road in Elliot Lake on June 10.

"The gnomes weighed about 10 lbs each, so it probably wasn't a child," Media Relations Officer Christine Ouimet told BayToday.

Any person with information regarding the person responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
