The end result of three months of hard work learning lines, dance numbers and musical scores were all put to practice this week as the students of King George Public School presented Disney’s ‘The Jungle Book.”

It was a packed house for the production and audience members marvelled at the costumes and set pieces that were full of colour, and from start to finish the production moved without effort.

Director Helen Gobby says she was thrilled to have 35 enthusiastic students come out to audition at the initial meeting in February.

“They came and auditioned with their hearts,” she states in her address to the audience members.

“It has been an absolute thrill to work with each and every one involved in this production, from the crew to the cast. I have learned so much and thank all of you for the opportunity to be a part of this spectacular show.”

Based on the smiles that radiated off the faces of proud parents, grandparents and siblings that packed the audience, the students can take pride in knowing they put on a top notch production.

The production is far from over because the students will now load up the set and costumes and take the show on the road to perform for their peers in the Near North District School Board.
