The governing Council of St. Andrew’s United Church in North Bay met this past Sunday morning to plan a way forward during the current COVID19 situation, including suspending all face-to-face meetings.

A number of efforts will be made to keep the community safe and reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

  • Sunday worship services will be suspended with the hope that they may tentatively resume on Easter Sunday. The Council will, however, actively monitor the situation and may extend the suspension as needed.
  • All face-to-face meetings and gatherings of church-related committees and groups will be suspended until the worship suspension is lifted.
  • Outside groups using the church will be permitted to continue doing so provided they take the usual preventative health precautions.
  • The Loaves & Fishes food bank will continue to operate on Thursday mornings, but with special modifications in place.

According to a news release, as the COVID situation evolves, members of the St. Andrew’s faith community can still connect by phone, email, facebook,  and the church website.

They are encouraged to visit https://standrews-northbay.ca/covid19/ for daily messages and updates from the Minister.  Plans are also underway for a short recorded online service each Sunday. Facebook and the church website will have details posted soon.
