The list of partners who hope to work with Canadore College to build a new multi-use sports complex is down to just two.

The facility, which would see the construction of a sports complex including twin ice pads, would be built behind the Canadore College Commerce Court Campus located just behind the aging Pete Palangio arena.

“We received nine expressions of interest in March and from that number we selected two proponents to engage in the next step of the process,” stated Canadore Public Relations and Communications Director Jessica Charette in an email to BayToday.ca.

“We are finalizing the request for proposal document that will be the basis for these companies to respond. We expect to have a final decision made by early July,” Charette added.

Initial submissions for the project were received by the school on January 30th.

The project would likely be a partnership between the private complex stakeholder, Canadore College and the city of North Bay.
