Southbound Ramp to Highway 69 Closed - OPP

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police attended the scene of a motor vehicle collision that occurred at 6:30 a.m. yesterday morning on the southbound ramp to Highway 69, City of Greater Sudbury.

An eastbound tractor trailer unit on Highway 17 took the ramp for Highway 69 south, failed to negotiate a left hand curve, went through the guard rails, down the embankment coming to rest off Goodview Drive.

The two occupants were taken to St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Sudbury by ambulance with undisclosed injuries.

The tractor trailer was carrying non hazardous materials which spilled on impact. There was a small diesel spill and the Ministry of Environment has been notified and are investigating.

The ramp is open to traffic heading south.

The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
