The owners and founders of Sofa Communications are pleased to announce the expansion of their marketing, printing and communications company.

Tim McArthur and Jason Sanderson started Sofa in 2005 to offer unique, innovative options for those in need of advertising and promotion.

“When we started it was just three of us, and that’s how it was for the first little while. But as our client list grew, so did our staffing requirements” says Sanderson, who has 20 years experience in the field, with a specialty in design and logo creation/branding. He believes this is a positive sign of a healthy business community in North Bay and surrounding area. “This bodes well for the local economy. Despite a tough economic climate over the past few years in Ontario, and the North in particular, the demand for our services has resulted in our team growing to its’ present size. We’re the biggest we’ve ever been, with eight full time staff and a number of on-call contracted specialists.”

As the director of print services, McArthur says they had a specialty that made them stand out. “I’ve enjoyed over 30 years in the world of printing and I’ve seen the industry change from one based on physical skills to one that uses equipment with computerized and digital capabilities that allow us to do high-quality, full-colour printing in-house. He points out they don’t use a photocopier but utilize a digital printing system valued in excess of $100,000, which allows a wide range of printed materials to not only be envisioned but brought to reality within the office located at 531 Cassells Street.

“And with our current team in place, we are offering more new services than ever before” adds Sanderson. In addition to web development, marketing, and printing, Sofa Communications now provides clients with a new range of services. These include product launches, securing keynote speakers, public-speaking training, and media preparedness for those who find themselves uncomfortable giving speeches or interviews.

McArthur sums it up simply, by saying “The Sofa just got bigger, and we couldn’t be more excited.”
