A snowmobile TV show that travels around the world is focussing on what North Bay and area has to offer snowmobilers.

Snowmobiler TV, which airs on Saturday at 2 p.m. on the Outdoor life Network and MCTV at 6:30 p.m. Sunday nights, does weekly features on different snowmobile destinations. In the past, their crews have traveled the trails in places like Finland and Alaska.

The show, which is hosted by Taera Samis, will do a video diary type feature of snowmobiling in our area. The program also airs internationally on the U.S. Outdoor Channel, and with STV viewers on both sides of the border, the feature may be a boost for tourism in the area.

On Monday morning they started up their sleds at the Portage in hopes of finding some great trails.

"We are going to be going up North, towards Temiskaming today," said STV host Taera Samis.

"We are staying overnight at Timberline lodge in Marten River and we are going to find out about the local trails and find out a little bit about the local culture."

The feature is expected to run at the beginning of next season.
