Snowmobiler dies, police say speed and alcohol a factor

A snowmobile accident Friday evening has taken the life of a Noelville man. Police say speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors.

A snowmobile accident Friday evening has taken the life of a Noelville man.

Police say speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors.

At approximately 7 pm, OPP were called to a motorized snow vehicle collision along an Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs trail off of Prevost Road in Noelville. 

The snowmobile driver was following another snowmobile when he lost control and was thrown from his machine.

Jeffery Pockele, age 40, from Noelville was rushed by ambulance to the hospital but died of his injuries.  

Investigation by the Noelville OPP Detachment is continuing with the assistance of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigator. 

A post mortem examination was done yesterday, but results have not yet been made public.
