While the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority recently reported that we are at about normal snow levels for this time of year, Pollock is surprised that we haven’t got a heavy blast of winter yet.

“We haven’t had a real snow storm yet, you know one of those where the Weather Network shows that Red Screen of Death estimating between 20 and 30 centimetres of snow and we are up to our knees in snow,” he said.

“The fact that we haven’t gotten a real snow storm yet worries me.”

Like many snow removal businesses, Pollock runs his company through contract work and pay per snow removal jobs.

Last year Pollock says January brought with it two nasty storms that had him working overtime.

“December was a lot slower than expected, but at least we got to enjoy the holiday,” he said.

“What February and March bring, who knows.”
