Small stars with big wishes

The ‘Small Stars with Big Wishes’ 2007 fundraising Calendar by St. Francis School is on sale now.

The school is raising funds for two very worthy causes and will be selling the calendars at three outlets Northgate Square Shopping Centre, One Kids Place and St. Francis Catholic School while supplies last.

The students of St. Francis School have produced a calendar and will be donating all funds from sales to the Free the Children campaign and One Kids Place.

This initiative was spearheaded by an ambitious small group of St. Francis students who call themselves “Small Stars with Big Wishes”. The calendar’s artwork was put together with each JK-6 classroom submitting a shared written piece as well as with a contest for individual drawings and stories for junior students.

The end product features a colourful assortment of seasonal pictures and words.

The calendars will be on sale at the Northgate Square Shopping Centre on Thursday, December 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at One Kids Place and St. Francis Catholic School every day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until supplies last.
The Free the Children campaign originated at St. Francis School following a presentation about a school building program in Kenya, which left a number of its students inspired to continue raising funds.
One Kids Place is a local organization providing a wide range of programs and services for children in the community.
