Slow down ... Winter Driving Campaign starts today

Starting today, the North Bay Police Service will be involved with it’s Winter Driving Campaign.

This campaign will consist of RIDE patrols every weekend until the end of Jan. 08.

Officers not on RIDE will be assigned the available Roadside Screening devices and will operate these on their own.

Each platoon will have a traffic radar and an officer will have the specific task of enforcing the traffic laws including those of excessive speed within Callander and North Bay.

Our web site (www.northbaypolice.on.ca) will carry our driving tips for the winter.

Our Service will release weekly stats concerning traffic enforcement as well as Impaired drivers stopped within that week.

Cst. Merv Shantz of our Traffic Section (497-5555) as well as myself will be available today for any interview or clip our media friends may want.
