Future SJSH Bear Cohen-Jessen Howard, samples a little pasta dinner last Thursday at St. Joseph Scollard Hall.

Following a truly successful ‘Spread the Net’ pasta dinner fundraiser this past Thursday the students at St. Joseph Scollard Hall are now focusing their efforts on their next major community event – a bottle drive.

With 353 people at the dinner and $2,934.55 raised Principal Elizabeth Foisy says she is thrilled with how the community has rallied to the cause and hopes that with the bottle drive SJSH can push into first place.

Foisy says it has been an excellent exercise for the school as whole from students to staff to do all they can to take first place so they can get CBC's Rick Mercer to the school. However, Foisy is quick to remind everyone that the real focus of their effort is to save lives by purchasing bed nets for African kids to prevent the spread of malaria.

To date the school has raised $18,082.21
