The North Bay Battalion acquired defenceman Nick King from the Owen Sound Attack on Monday in the second trade between the Ontario Hockey League clubs in two days.

Owen Sound received a conditional 15th-round pick in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection for King, a six-foot-two, 175-pound left shot who turned 18 on Jan. 13.

King was selected by the Attack in the 10th round in 2015 from the Waterloo Wolves minor midgets.

In 40 games with Owen Sound this season and last, King had three assists and six penalty minutes.

The trade followed North Bay’s acquisition of goaltender Christian Propp from the Attack on Sunday after the Barrie Colts sent him to Owen Sound for three OHL Priority Selection picks.

The Battalion swapped defenceman Brady Lyle and a seventh-round pick in 2020 for Propp and a 2020 10th-rounder.

Goalie Christan Purboo, who played the last two games, helping defeat Kingston after a 7-1 road loss Friday night to the Mississauga Steelheads, has been returned to the Oakville Blades of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Mat Woroniuk, a holdover from last season, has been placed on waivers.

The trade brings the Battalion blue line back to eight defenders including overager’s Riley Bruce and Jesse Saban, along with Adam Thilander, Cam Dineen, Eric Allair, the injured Travis Mailhot and rookie Simon Rose.

In Sunday’s win, the Battalion sat Mailhot and Rose in favour of local product Payton Vescio who made his regular season debut.
