Serenity Hospice gets big financial boost

The families in the Nipissing and East Parry Sound Districts are extremely thankful to have such generous patrons share in our mission.

The Nipissing Serenity Hospice had some good news to announce this morning.

On behalf of the Stockfish Family Foundation, Mike Stockfish along with Jayne Stockfish Irwin announced a donation of $115,000 as well as their additional $100,000 pledge to the “Building Dignity” Capital Campaign. 

The Nipissing Serenity Hospice Board of Directors and Fundraising Committee, in a news release said they are deeply grateful to the Stockfish Family Foundation for the donation.

The Nipissing Serenity Hospice will be located near Laurier Woods off John Street.

The Nipissing Serenity Hospice Honourary Co-Chairs are former Olympian Kate Pace-Lindsay and North Bay native Dr. John Dellandrea, currently the President/CEO of Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation in Toronto. They say they are encouraged at the early response for the six-million dollar project which has already seen over one million contributed locally.    

Campaign Co-Chairs are Marlene Wood and Ian Martyn.

"The families in the Nipissing and East Parry Sound Districts are extremely thankful to have such generous patrons share in our mission," said Martyn. "Every donation brings us one step closer to realizing our dream of building a home hospice providing professional and compassionate palliative care. With your help our patients will be able to end their life’s journey with dignity, surrounded by their loved ones."
