North Bay OPP are investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred shortly after 8:00 a.m. today at the intersection of Algonquin Avenue and the North Bay Bypass (Highway 11/17) that involved six vehicles.

Virginia Woods, 59, of Callander, was driving a 2003 International school bus eastbound on the bypass and entered the intersection at Algonquin Avenue. The school bus collided with a blue 2002 Hyundai Sonota driven by 54-year-old Richard Beauchamp of North Bay. Beauchamp was southbound on Algonquin Avenue and was in the process of making a left turn on to the bypass.

The school bus continued across the intersection and collided with four other motor vehicles that were stopped the opposite direction.

Richard Beauchamp and his wife, 52-year-old Suzanne Beauchamp, along with 52-year-old Elaine Lamarche of Corbeil, were sent to North Bay General Hospital with minor injuries.

Lamarche was in a grey 1999 Chevrolet Lumina stopped at the intersection.
