A final decision on the fate of three North Bay high schools is being delayed and won't take place as planned at the Near North Board meeting on June 27.

In a news release, the Board says following a Committee of the Whole meeting last night, a recommendation to proceed with the elementary accommodation review decision at the June 27 Board meeting was brought forward.

But, "regarding the secondary accommodation review, Trustees determined that they will require more time for discussion in order to reach a final decision.  A timeline for a final decision has not been established."

The six schools under review include E.T. Carmichael, E.W. Norman and W.J. Fricker public schools and Chippewa, West Ferris and Widdifield secondary schools.
