Packsak Smiles is a volunteer group that helps school-aged children from less fortunate families in the Powassan, North Bay, and Callander areas start the school year off on the right foot with new beautiful new backpacks full of essentials.

The children are from both the public and catholic school boards in grades Junior Kindergarten to grade 8. Each backpack is valued at about $130 and include jeans, long sleeve shirt, short sleeve shirt, running shoes for gym, lunch bag, underwear/socks, age appropriate book, toiletries, juice and healthy snacks, and a pencil case with ruler, eraser and pencils.
