TVO Officials say Carley's lecture clearly stood out in both the public vote and with the jury. They also said he led the pack heading into the top 10 and then delivered an engaging, provocative, powerful competition lecture.

Rod Carley was named one of the 10 finalists for TVO’s 2009 Big Ideas Best Lecturer Competition in February.
Rod’s lecture, Adapting Shakespeare in a Modern Canadian Context, will air on Saturday, March 28 at 4 p.m. on TVO. The winner, who will walk away with a $10,000 scholarship for his/her school, will be announced on April 11.

Canadore College's instructor is close to capturing the title of TVO's Big Ideas Best Lecturer with your help. Carley’s ‘Adapting Shakespeare within a Modern Canadian Context’ lecture is up against experts from a wide variety of academic disciplines including English, anthropology, history and health sciences in the race to determine who will walk away with top spot.
