Seeing a video camera at a wedding these days is natural, but having a camera crew follow the couple around all week as they go over last minute touches for their big day, is a bit strange, unless you are part of a TV show like Derick Lehmann and Julie Price.

Lehmann and Price thought their love story and their wedding plans were different and would be good content for the Life Network’s show ‘Rich Bride,Poor Bride’.

Misty Taylor, assistant producer with Buck Productions, says when the couple came in to audition there was no doubt in anyone's mind that this pair had a unique tale to tell.

“We were blown away when they came in to audition,” she says.

“This is the first couple we have ever left the GTA for.”

Tyson explained that coming to North Bay is a huge expense to the production house as they have to house and feed everyone on the crew, but said they would consider another visit if they find another couple as interesting as Lehmann and Price.

“Oh my God, everyone here has been so accommodating,” states Tyson.

“Everyone is so welcoming and it’s easier to shoot than in the GTA. This one has been successful.”

“It’s a very interesting wedding at the college with the reception at the bar, The Wall.”

The Bride and groom couldn’t agree more and taking part in the show is just another element to their love story.

“It’s fun and a once in a lifetime opportunity, this has been my favourite week,” says Price.

“And an incredible experience,” chimes in Lehmann.

“It makes the lead up to our day exciting.”

The couple will be wed on the stage at Nipissing University Saturday afternoon and tonight the couple hosted their rehearsal dinner at the Canadore Room at Canadore College’s main campus. The location is the couple’s second home and where they met and worked together as Price served as NUSU president and Lehmann served as CSRC president.

Wedding planner, Heidi Allen says she has had the time of her life working on this particular wedding because it has been such an interesting affair start to finish.

“Planning their wedding has been incredible,” she says.

“Because Derick’s planning the wedding, it’s his vision, and I usually work mostly with the bride.”

The ceremony is a first for the University and the couple stressed that they felt it was very important to have their special day take place where it all began.
