North Bay - The Ministry of Natural Resources would like to remind all Wasi Lake and Wasi River shoreline property owners, and relevant municipalities and townships that the staged removal of the illegal sandbag dam obstructing the Wasi Lake outlet has commenced today and will continue until all sandbags are removed.
This procedure is expected to result in lower lake water levels of approximately 0.6 metres (2.0 feet) in Wasi Lake by early December, 2007. During the same period, elevated flows and water levels may be expected on the Wasi River between Wasi Lake and the outlet on Callander Bay, Lake Nipissing.
