Pain, shock and disbelief is still visibly clear on the faces of the men and women of police, firefighters, paramedics and members of the Canadian and U.S. military a decade after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York.

Pain, shock and disbelief is still visibly clear on the faces of the men and women of police, firefighters, paramedics and members of the Canadian and U.S. military a decade after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York.

On Sunday a special ceremony was held at the Fire Department on Princess Street to mark the 10th anniversary of 9-11 where all agreed in the resolve to move forward but to be to be ever vigilant in the fight against terrorism.

Mayor Al McDonald reminded everyone the way the world works changed forever that day and that we can't take freedom for granted.

"Ten years ago today we lost our innocence," he states.

"We're here to remember the families that lost loved ones, but we are also here to say to the terrorists 'We will not be defeated. we will continue on with our daily lives."

"We can never forget what happened 10 years ago but we must continue on."
