Regina Street man charged with assault with a weapon

North Bay City Police Constable Aaron Northrup responded to report of an assault in progress at a residence in the 300 block of Regina Street at approximately 2:34 am, July 12, 2011. It was alleged a 57-year-old male was beating on another resident with a wooden cane.

The accused resisted arrest by police and assaulted the police officer by kicking him and hitting him with the stick. He was eventually subdued and arrested, and held for a bail hearing.

Police have charged Pierre Renaud, of Regina Street, with assault with a weapon, and assault resisting arrest.
