Operation Red Nose is pleased to announce that during this past weekend, its activities doubled compared to the same weekend last year.
A total of 154 rides back home were given to motorists who had too many or who were simply too overtired to drive back home. This is more than double in numbers compared to the 75 rides given on the same weekend last year.
67 volunteers were at headquarters on Friday and Saturday night answering to a total of 193 calls.
On the weekend, $1, 777 was raised for Le Centre ALEC's family literacy program through donations received from clients using the service.
The program will be running again this coming Friday December 22nd , Friday December 29th and Sunday December 31st.
Volunteers are still needed for these three remaining evenings and especially for the last evening which will be New Years Eve.
