There is a special weather statement in effect for North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa - West Nipissing - French River.

Winter has returned with snow continuing today.

Snow will continue to fall across the region as a trough of low pressure lingers in the wake of yesterday's fall storm.

While most areas will receive 5-10 cm of snow today, a few locales may receive somewhat higher amounts of 10 to 15 cm by this evening.

Motorists should note that poor winter driving conditions are likely.

Watch out for low visibility in snow and accumulating snow on untreated roads.

The snow will end this evening as the trough weakens and moves away to the east.
