Reconstruction of Cassells Street is set to resume Monday

The project was originally slated for completion this year, but, as a result of the delay, some works will now be finished off in the spring and summer of 2021

After a four-week delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, expect reconstruction of Cassells St. to resume tomorrow.

Municipal construction projects and activities that support the delivery of services including sewage treatment and disposal, potable drinking water, and critical infrastructure repair and maintenance including roads, can continue during the previously announced shut-down of non-essential businesses.

The contractor has provided training to its employees that includes, but is not limited to, social distancing, cleanliness, disinfection, etc. to ensure a safe work environment. During this period and the foreseeable future, all contact between property owners and the contractor’s personnel will be minimized using paper handouts and phone calls.

The work includes sewers, watermain, road base, curbs, sidewalks, asphalt paving, Chippewa Creek Bridge and other ancillary work from King Street to the bypass.

The project was originally slated for completion this year, but, as a result of the delay, some works will now be finished off in the spring and summer of 2021.
