Rally planned to support CBC Radio North

Many people in North Bay have been concerned with the loss of as many as 8 positions from the CBC Radio station in Sudbury and the resulting loss of Northern Ontario Coverage it may leave behind.

CBC Radio plays an important part in keeping many individuals and communities connected in the North and provides an important sense of identity to Northern Ontarians that local station simply cannot. Providing an inquisitive, informative and sometimes even cynical but none-the-less unbiased and operating at arms length from government, maintaining a strong regional presence for CBC Radio is vital to Northern Ontario.

This Sunday there will be a rally in support of maintaining the Northern Ontario Radio service in Sudbury at the CBC station and a bus is being planned from North Bay, based on numbers of people who can let us know if they are interested in joining us, leaving Northgate Square at 12 noon and returning by 6:00 p.m.
