Rain and snow weather alert

Some rainfall today followed by a potential significant snowfall Wednesday.

A special weather statement has been issued for:

  • North Bay - West Nipissing,
  • Greater Sudbury and vicinity, 
  • New Liskeard - Temagami,
  • Burk's Falls - Bayfield Inlet,

Some rainfall followed by a potential significant snowfall Wednesday.

Rain is expected to move into portions of Northeastern and Central Ontario later today. Some areas may receive 10 to 20 millimetres of rain by Wednesday.

The rain will change to snow on Wednesday as temperatures get colder. There is a possibility that snowfall accumulations may exceed 10 cm along with some blowing snow. 

There is also a risk of brief freezing rain during the changeover from rain to snow.

The snow is expected to end Wednesday night.

  •  Huntsville - Baysville,

Rain is expected to move into areas near Georgian Bay later today. The rain is likely to be heaviest tonight. The ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rain due to recent rains and snowmelt.

General rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 millimetres are expected by Wednesday.

The rain will change to snow later Wednesday as temperatures get colder. There is a possibility that snowfall accumulations may exceed 10 cm along with some blowing snow.
