On Monday December 21st 2009 Chippewa Secondary School will be donating over 100 toys to the L.I.P.I. organization to help support North Bay and surrounding area families this holiday season.

Over the last 3 weeks students and staff at Chippewa have been participating in their first annual toy drive.

Spearheaded by Kerri Renaud a child development counsellor at the school, Chippewa students heard that there were families in need during this holiday season and they wanted to know how they could help. Sarena Peterson a grade 9 student a Chippewa stated she “wanted to contribute because she was bothered by the thought that some families would be struggling over the holiday season and donating a toy was her way to help bring a smile to a child’s face this Christmas.”

The staff and students at Chippewa encourage everyone to take a moment and reflect with their family and friends on their blessing over this holiday season.

If you would like to support the students' efforts drop your toys off at the school on Chippewa Street this week.
