Alumni, retired staff (a few original 1958 teachers) and retired principals joined current staff and students at Chippewa Secondary School Wednesday to help Chippewa Alumni Association President David Pollard officially kickoff the school’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Event chair/current faculty member/alumnus Brian Risk, with support of committee members, was thrilled to unveil an exciting line up of events for Raiders returning for the June 26th to 29th 2008 festivities. Alumni can look forward to a weekend that includes golf and volleyball tournaments, a scarlet and gold decade by decade fashion show, Raider art displays and a musical jam session. Risk says the highlight of the event will be the big dinner dance party at Memorial Gardens on the Saturday.

The committee is working hard to reach all alumni from around the globe and have launched a Facebook group -- Chippewa Secondary School 50th Reunion, Risk says he hopes to get everyone home for the celebrations including notable former students like sound and stage star Tamara Bernier and Olympic medalist Diane O’Grady.
