Puppy scam alert

The North Bay Police Service would like to caution the general public re. a puppy scam.

The would be seller places ads in various areas including the internet. They then show a photo of a puppy and ask for a certain price in advance.

Once the fees are paid, the seller then advises the purchaser of information that they will need to pick up the puppy at the airport.

Of course when the plane arrives there is no dog and the buyer is not only out the money but also suffers the emotional loss of the non existent puppy.

Several cases have occurred within the local area and our Service would like to caution the public.

Know who you are buying from or get references.
