As part of their 30th anniversary celebrations, the North Bay Literacy Council is preparing to host the Laubach Literacy Ontario Provincial Conference beginning Friday, June 20 to Sunday June 22, 2008 at the College Drive Education Centre.
Executive Coordinator, Jane Jackson, says they are expecting 200 people, including approximately 72 adult learners from across the province. Participants will be attending a variety of workshops and professional development seminars for students, tutors, practitioners, administrators, trainers and board members.
Local politicians, special guests and participants will attend the Saturday evening banquet in the Education Centre cafeteria where awards and certificates will be handed out to very deserving recipients.
Music, a dance and karaoke (LLO Idol) will follow the banquet on Saturday evening.
