Property owner asking for rezoning of Jet Ave

City Planner Steve McArthur presented to council and amendment for an application to re-zone Jet Avenue from the beer store, down the lake side to Apollo Gymnastics.

“The City staff would like to see this eventually changed to residential,” McArthur said.

The applicant currently owns a warehouse property, designated an industrial zone and would like to add five more apartments on the west arm of the Jet Avenue warehouse.

“It’s definitely a plus for the area and complies with all our wishes,” Deputy Mayor Chirico said.

The residents in the area are hoping to see single family homes all along but McArthur and Chirico agreed that it is not feasible.

“It is a possibility in the future, but most likely not a reality,” Chirico said.
