Maxime Bernier, founder and leader of the People’s Party of Canadawill be making a campaign stop in North Bay later this month.

Mark King, PPC candidate for the riding of Nipissing-Timiskaming made the comment to local media Tuesday night.

“I can tell you officially as of today Maxime Bernier will be here on the 21st of the month. We will be doing some tours here in North Bay and later on during that particular day we will have a full blown rally at the Davedi Club.”

King says it is an opportunity for voters to meet the leader of Canada’s newest federal party.

“I have had a lot of discussions with him, meetings both in Gatineau and Ottawa and also through phone conversations. I am anxious to have him come here, to explain to people what he is all about, and what the policies are of the PPC,” said King.

“One of the things that really convinced me to run under the PPC banner was the way they operate, and I will have the ability to speak about regional issues that are important to every person that lives in the riding of Nipissing-Timiskaming. Those are really important items and trust me, I know what the problems are.”

More details are expected to be released closer to the event.
