Police seize close to $30,000 worth of street drugs

Police efforts continue to take enforcement action against individuals believed to be involved in the distribution of illicit drugs in the Nipissing District

North Bay Police have seized a significant amount of fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine as part of the continued investigative efforts into illicit drugs in North Bay and area.

An investigation on Thursday, July 22nd, 2021, identified a male who the police believed was in possession of a quantity of illegal drugs at 100 Station Road in North Bay.

Police says Daniel Sheridan, age 18, from Ininisfil, Ontario was arrested shortly after 6 pm on July 22nd at that location and as a result, police seized:

  • 31.6 grams of suspected purple fentanyl
  • 128 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
  • 285 dollars in Canadian currency

Police estimated the street value of the drugs seized at $28,500.

Sheridan has been charged with: 

  • Two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.

Following a Bail Hearing, the accused was released from custody and will answer to the charges at the North Bay Courthouse on August 31, 2021.

This investigation is part of a continued partnership between the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit and the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau. Police efforts continue to take enforcement action against individuals believed to be involved in the distribution of illicit drugs in the Nipissing District.
