Anti-vaccine freedom rallies have taken place recently in front of a number of Ontario hospitals earlier this week.

In some larger cities, the Ontario Hospital Association has reported harassment toward patients and other healthcare workers trying to access the respective health care venues.

Freedom rallies have taken place in North Bay but so far, none have taken place at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

"The North Bay Police continues to monitor and react to situations in our community," said Special Constable John Schultz, Community Safety Coordinator with the North Bay Police Service.

"In regards to ongoing protests to this health care crisis, we respect the right of people to protest in a lawful manner. We have Officers that are trained in dealing with these types of situations.

"Our officers will attend for the purpose of public safety however if people are identified committing offences appropriate action is taken."

BayToday reached out to the North Bay Regional Health Centre earlier this week for a comment on the subject but did not get a response prior to the publication deadline.

In Sudbury, close to 50 protesters assembled in front of the Health Sciences North property, which is also adjacent to the Public Health Sudbury & Districts building.

Those protesters spoke out against the idea of mandated vaccination policies in the workplace and vaccine passports in general.
