A Markstay-Warren resident is facing several charges after police said they were following another vehicle in a harassing way as part of an ongoing domestic dispute.
Nipissing West Ontario Provincial Police detachment officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance call on Highway 17 in Markstay-Warren on Sept. 19 just after 1 p.m.
“A vehicle was being followed by another vehicle, operated by a previous partner on the highway,” police allege. “Police located the vehicles and conducted a traffic stop with both vehicles; one driver was arrested.”
As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old West Nipissing resident is charged with:
- Criminal harassment - repeatedly follow
- Resist Peace Officer
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Mischief - domestic
- Dangerous operation
The accused was held for bail court and was given an appearance date in a Sudbury courtroom this month.
To protect the identity of the victim, the accused name and court date will not be released.
