Police make major drug bust after traffic stop

The North Bay Police Service Street Crime Unit made a pair of arrests relating to an investigation on Wednesday, July 31. 

It’s alleged that police started an investigation after stopping a vehicle in North Bay. 

Police say the two occupants of the vehicle were arrested and resulted in the seizure of approximately 47 grams of suspected purple fentanyl, $19,620 in Canadian currency, approximately 0.1 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, a digital scale and packaging materials, assorted jewellery valued in excess of $7000.

Police estimate the street value of the drugs at $30,550. 

The 2015 BMW vehicle being operated at the time was seized by police as offence related property.

Two individuals arrested face multiple charges. 

Kyle Pitre, age 33, from Garson Ontario has been arrested and charged with:  

  • One Count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • One Count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime
  • One Count of Possession of Schedule I Substance
  • One Count of Breach of Probation

Carley Leclair, age 25, from North Bay has been arrested and charged with;

  • One Count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • One Count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime
  • One count of Possession of Schedule I Substance

Both accused have been held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
