City police believe they have solved a number of breaking with the arrest of a North Bay man.

Police responded to a business break-in occurring in the early morning hours of July 16 in the 300 block of McIntyre Street West.

A thief had gained entry and stolen property which included electronic equipment totalling over $30,000.

As the police investigation continued a theft was reported at a Hammond Street business on July 18. Police identified a man as being responsible for the Hammond Street theft.

Jeff Quenneville was arrested for the theft on the morning of July 21. As part of the arrest police also accused him of the break and enter that occurred at the McIntyre Street business. Police believe Quenneville is also responsible for an additional July 18th theft of electronic equipment that had occurred at a downtown business on Fraser Street.

Quenneville, 35, of North Bay is charged with:

  • Break and enter
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Theft over $5,000.

Quenneville has been held in custody pending a bail hearing today at the North Bay Courthouse.

Police are reminding business owners of the importance of maintaining and updating video surveillance equipment. Quality images help to identify suspects, can aid in arrests, and have a tremendous impact during court proceedings.
