Update: Woman found, Police issue 'urgent' appeal for missing person

Missing is 77 year old Madelaine Brazeau

Update: Monday, June 28.

"The NBPS would like the thank the media, members of the public, BAYSAR, and the Ontario Provincial Police for their assistance in locating our MP.  She has been located. The NBPS will not be providing any further information," says Jeff Warner, Inspector Operations in an email.

The update from the police did not say if Brazeau was found safe or the condition she was in when found.

Update Sunday 12 noon:

"The NBPS has credible sightings in the area of HWY 17 east, unofficially know as Tower Road, access to radio tower off highway 17 east between Stockfish and Mr Gas between 3:45 and 4:30 pm yesterday afternoon.," says Inspector Jeff Warner.

"NBPS is requesting witnesses in that area during the applicable time frames or any dash-cam video footage to contact NBPS with the information."

North Bay police have issued an "Urgent" appeal for information about what they are calling a "vulnerable adult female missing in North Bay, just reported to police."

Missing is 77 year old Madelaine Brazeau. She was last seen at the North Bay bus terminal on Station Road at 4 p.m.. Saturday.

Brazeaau is described as :

  • 5'5 tall,
  • average build
  • approx 130 - 140 lbs.­ 
  • grey short curly hair. 
  • large straw hat with pink coat.
  • should have a grey suitcase.

An updated photo (see photo gallery) of Brazeau at the bus terminal in North Bay, taken from CCTV footage, was released Saturday night.

Police are checking further to see if she was able to access any other buses out of town.
