Police concerned with rash of traffic accidents

The North Bay Police Service is reminding motorists to pay close attention to their surroundings while driving

A 21-year-old North Bay man was charged with “Fail to yield from a private drive.”

Three separate collisions within the city over the past two days sent one person to the hospital and resulted in two people being charged under the Highway Traffic Act.

Yesterday at 4:50 p.m, officers were dispatched to a three-vehicle accident at the entrance to a Lakeshore Drive business near Marshall Avenue. No one was injured but a one-hour road closure of Marshall Avenue was required. A 21-year-old North Bay man was charged with “Fail to yield from a private drive.”

Approximately 20 minutes later, at the intersection of Cassells and O’Brien Street, a two-vehicle collision resulted in minor injuries to one driver. No charges were laid in this incident.

Then this morning at 8:15 a.m, a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Airport and Stockdale Road, sent one person to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. A 40-year-old North Bay man has been charged with “Fail to yield to traffic on through highway.”
