Patrol and Street Crime officers worked together to grab four suspects relating to a pair of thefts on Tuesday night.

Around 8:30 p.m. police say a man entered a downtown motel, jumped the counter and emptied the cash register and then fled the scene on foot.

North Bay Police patrol officers responded immediately and began a search for the suspect in the downtown core.

While this was taking place, officers from the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit were conducting a drug search warrant in a residential unit on McLeod Street.

Police had just arrested the occupants on drug offences and transported them to headquarters for questioning, while Street Crime officers continued to search the residence for evidence.

Street Crime officers had also just answered the door of the residence to a man with a bag full of suspected stolen clothes and shoes from a local department store. They arrested him on site at approximately 8:25 p.m.

Approximately an hour later, the suspect of the motel theft, with cash in hand, also knocked at door of the residence where Street Crime officers were conducting their search.

Officers answered the door and arrested him on site.

As a result the three separate investigations, North Bay Police charged the following people:

A 51-year-old man from North Bay accused of stealing property from a department store was charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and one count of breach of probation. He was released with a court date scheduled for June 16th.

A 34-year-old man of no fixed address, accused of stealing money from a motel, was charged with one count of theft under $5000 and two counts of breach of probation. He was held in custody, pending a bail hearing.

Following the results of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant, police charged Jennifer Lynn Durst, age 44, of North Bay with one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

She was released from custody with a court date scheduled for July 7th, 2015. Trevon Cheyne Figaro, age 31, of Mississauga was charged with one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. He was released from custody with a court date scheduled for June 30th.

As a result of the search, police seized 28 grams of cocaine valued at approximately $2,800 and $8,800 in Canadian currency.
