A homeowner got quite the surprise one Sunday afternoon in August when she turned up at her vacant house to do some repairs.

From the driveway could be seen an unknown man inside the home.

The property owner called police, but the intruder had fled before they arrived, and they were unable to find him nearby.

Left inside the home were numerous items, including some that were consistent with thefts from vehicles.

Yesterday, following an investigation into that August B&E, which included forensic analysis of items seized as evidence, North Bay Police arrested:

John Joseph Alex MacIsaac, age 41, at his North Bay home and charged him with:

  • One count of unlawfully in dwelling; and
  • Three counts of theft under $5,000.

MacIsaac was released from custody with a court date scheduled for November 22nd, 2016.
