West Nipissing Police Chief Ray St. Pierre has confirmed to BayToday that officers are investigating a report of someone putting what appears to be medical pills into children's Halloween bags.

"It was the only complaint we received," said the Chief. "We've had no other reports of drugs or medication of any sort. It was the only call that we got. Our guys are looking into it to try and determine where the child went."

there have been other reports of the same thing in Sturgeon Falls.

The mother says she has no idea which house gave out the pill, but "we did 3 streets."

There is suspicion that it is an Allegra Antihistamine pill.

She wants to warn other parents in West Nipissing to carefully check their children's bags.

"I couldn't let this one go.... besides not even knowing what it was at first, still there's no knowing what that pill could've done to a 30-60 lbs child that ate it," she says on her Facebook page.

North Bay Police Constable John Schultz says they have also had a complaint about sabotaged candy. There are Facebook reports about a woman finding needles in chocolate bars that her child received on Ferguson St.

He says that report is being investigated.
