The City is actively investigating circumstances regarding an out-of-town driveway paving company operating in North Bay.
"Please use extreme care when considering/accepting offers and confirm that they are legitimate," says a news release. "We strongly suggest checking for references, as well."

And: Cheap driveway repair services offered by local scammers
There have been several recent instances within the city of work occurring without proper permits as a result of door-to-door solicitation for asphalt and paving services.
"These solicitations should raise red flags for the homeowner."
And don't forget to get a work permit. It is required prior to any installation or alteration of driveways, including repaving, within the municipal right of way.
"It is important for the City to approve these types of works to avoid potential conflicts with municipal road maintenance or construction activities and to ensure that all standards are met. If the company is working without a permit, it may give you an indication that the work is either unauthorized or may be a scam," warns the City.
