Local paramedics rolled up their sleeves to serve up coffee and donuts today in an effort to help Easter Seals Kids during the second annual Coffee, care and compassion fundraiser.

Nicole Blais, Easter Seals Society District Manager says the money raised from the event will go to support their kids in the Nipissing area with mobility equipment, communication devices, summer camp, recreational programs and travel.

“There is a goal this year … last year we raised $1,250,” she explains.

“ And we have a little competition going between the three Country Styles (2 in city and one in Callander) and hopefully this year we’ll exceed $1500.”

North Bay Paramedic Lori Butterfield said it is a great event and gave her a whole new appreciation counter servers in the city and the hard work they put in over the course of a day.

The event wrapped up at 1pm.
